Research software

Write Now! is an actively developed research project. Features, interfaces and functionality may change without notice as the software evolves.

Appropriate use

Users agree to use Write Now! only for lawful educational purposes. Users are responsible for the content they create and the information they ask students to provide.

Teachers may enable Google sign-in for students in a learning space and restrict access to specified email domains. Teachers are responsible for ensuring that requiring identifiable student information and selecting the permitted domains are appropriate for their educational context and comply with their institution’s policies. Students must not use another person’s Google account or attempt to misrepresent their identity.

Availability

While reasonable efforts are made to keep the service available, uninterrupted operation cannot be guaranteed. The service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates or unexpected outages.

Data

Teachers remain responsible for maintaining appropriate records and backups of any important classroom data.

No warranty

Write Now! is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. The developers make no guarantees regarding fitness for a particular purpose, availability or data preservation.

Open source

A standalone version of Write Now! is planned for future release as open-source software. Once released, users will be free to self-host and modify that version under the terms of its open-source licence, including adapting it to work with their own data services. The server implementation used by the hosted service is not included in this planned release.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developers shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of Write Now!
